The Headless Horseman Pursuing Ichabod Crane is a painting by John Quidor (1801 – 1881). Quidor was an American artist who specialized in painting picutes of historical and literary subjects. He had a particular fascination with the work of Washington Irving. He produced 35 (known) canvases and most of them were inspired by Irving stories set in Dutch New York.
