Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (A Story from The Weird Circle)
Due to the time restraints of the show, the Weird Circle’s dramatization of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic horror story is a very condensed version of the tale and the dramatization does deviate in some ways from Stevenson’s original story. For instance, the show culminates with Mr. Hyde shooting himself, but in the book, the monster’s preferred method of exit is by the use of poison.
A more significant difference is that in the Weird Circle’s version, the dead Mr Hyde changes back into a recognizable Dr. Henry Jekyll. In the book, he does not. All in all, though there are worse ways to spend half an hour and those who love classic old radio shows should enjoy their time spent in The Weird Circle with Messrs. Jekyll and Hyde.
